2026 Application of USTB Chancellor Scholarship
I. Application Categories
Undergraduate programs, Master’s programs, Doctoral programs
For master’s and doctoral program applications, it is recommended to prioritize applying for our university’s Chinese Government Scholarship – High-Level Postgraduate Program (which also provides an opportunity to be considered for the Dingxin Scholarship).
II. Scholarship Benefits
Full Scholarship: Covers tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, living allowance, and comprehensive medical insurance.
Partial Scholarship: Covers one or several of the above items.
III. Eligibility Requirements
1.Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.
2.Academic background and age requirements for applicants:
1)For undergraduate programs: Must hold a high school graduation certificate and be under 30 years old.
2)For master’s programs: Must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 40 years old.
3)For doctoral programs: Must hold a master’s degree and be under 45 years old.
IV. Application Method
1.Complete the online application and pay the application fee via the following platform:
onlineapply.ustb.edu.cn
2.Applicants for undergraduate programs must take the CSCA exam (please refer to the official website introduction ).
Note: The application fee is non-refundable regardless of the admission result.

November 1, 2025 – April 30, 2026
VI. Application Materials
1.Log in to the application system, fill in the required information, and pay the application fee (platform: onlineapply.ustb.edu.cn).
2.Graduation certificates (high school, bachelor’s, master’s): Original notarized copies in Chinese or English.
Note: Graduating students shall provide a pre-graduation certificate or enrollment certificate during the application. After admission, they must supplement and submit the degree certificate to obtain admission qualification.
3.Academic transcripts (bachelor’s, master’s): Including all courses, GPA or average score, and grading standards; original notarized copies in Chinese or English.
4.Personal statement (including research plan): At least 1,000 words for master’s applicants and 1,500 words for doctoral applicants, written in Chinese or English.
5.Two recommendation letters: Provided by professors or associate professors, with at least one recommender familiar with the applicant’s current major.
6.Copy of language proficiency test score report:
1) For programs taught in Chinese: HSK Level 4 (undergraduate) or HSK Level 5 (master’s/doctoral).
2) For programs taught in English: IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 70 (undergraduate); IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80 (master’s/doctoral); or other official English proficiency certificates.
7.Copy of passport: The passport must be a valid ordinary passport (valid until after September 2026).
8.Medical examination result (valid within 6 months).
9.Non-criminal record certificate (valid within 3 months).
10.Supervisor’s acceptance letter (optional; doctoral applicants are advised to contact potential supervisors in advance).
11.List and abstracts of published academic papers, and other original academic achievements (if applicable).
12.For undergraduate program applicants: CSCA exam transcript (must take the CSCA exam and provide the transcript).

VIII. Admission Results
The International Student Center will announce the admission list in June 2026. Admission documents (such as the admission letter) will be sent via the official email (admission@ustb.edu.cn) in July. Please carefully confirm your email address and contact information when filling out the application form.
