Notice on Applications for the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students (2025-2026 Academic Year).docx
In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students, the application and review process for the 2025-2026 academic year is now launched. The details are hereby notified as follows:
I. Introduction to the Beijing Scholarship
The Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students is a scholarship program established by the Beijing Municipal Government to fund outstanding international students who understand and are friendly to China. It is divided into three tiers: Grade A, Grade B, and Grade C, providing support including tuition waiver and accommodation fee waiver.
II. Eligible Applicants
Self-funded international students currently enrolled in undergraduate programs, master's programs, doctoral programs, and preparatory programs.
III. Application Qualifications
Applicants must be in good physical and mental health, of good moral character, and friendly to China. They shall possess the corresponding educational background and language proficiency, and hold a foreign passport as non-Chinese citizens. Applicants shall not simultaneously receive other scholarships established by Chinese governments at all levels, social organizations, or admitting institutions (excluding one-time awards of various types).
IV. Application Requirements
Applicants must comply with the relevant provisions of Beijing Municipality and the university.
(I) Age and Language Requirements
1.Preparatory program students: Under 24 years old at the time of enrollment, and at least reaching HSK Level 3;
2.Undergraduate students: Under 25 years old at the time of enrollment. For students in Chinese-taught programs, at least reaching HSK Level 4; for students in English-taught programs, providing relevant English language proficiency certificates;
3.Master's program students: Under 35 years old at the time of enrollment. At least reaching HSK Level 5; for students in English-taught programs, providing relevant English language proficiency certificates;
4.Doctoral program students: Under 40 years old at the time of enrollment. At least reaching HSK Level 5; for students in English-taught programs, providing relevant English language proficiency certificates.
(II) Academic Performance and Other Requirements
New Students of the 2025 Cohort
1.Applicants for Grade B and Grade C Scholarships: Graduation institutions of the previous academic level shall in principle be key universities (research institutions) or key high schools in their home countries (with an average score of no less than 80 points or GPA of 3.0);
2.Applicants for Grade A Scholarships: Graduation institutions of the previous academic level shall in principle be top 500 universities in global rankings or key high schools in their home countries (with an average score of no less than 85 points or GPA of 3.6);
3.Priority will be given to applicants with outstanding scientific research achievements or important awards.
Continuing Students Enrolled in 2024 or Earlier Cohorts
1.Academic performance: Ranking among the top in the same grade and major among applicants in the current academic year;
2.Good academic conduct: Abiding by national laws and regulations, university rules and disciplines, ensuring class attendance, and participating in class meetings on time;
3.Priority will be given to student cadres, student assistants of the International College, and those who have made contributions to student management and various activities;
4.Priority will be given to those who actively participate in various on-campus and off-campus activities, have won awards, and brought honors to the university;
5.Priority will be given to applicants with outstanding scientific research achievements.
V. Application Materials
New Students of the 2025 Cohort
1.Application Form for the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students;
2.Highest academic degree certificate and academic transcripts;
3.Language proficiency certificate;
4.Relevant materials of scientific research achievements or awards (if any);
5.Proof of insurance payment.
Continuing Students Enrolled in 2024 or Earlier Cohorts
1.Application Form for the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students;
2.Academic transcripts of the previous academic year (2024-2025);
3.Materials of papers published and awards obtained during 2024-2025;
4.Proof of insurance payment.
VI. Application Timeline and Procedures
1.Submit the application form and supporting materials to the class teacher by December 26. Late submissions will not be accepted;
2.The International Student Center will conduct the review and publicize the results.
