Damping Capacities and Discussion of Micro-mechanical Model of High Silicon ZA27 Alloy

The damping capacities of high silicon ZA27 alloys are reported in the present paper.The results show that the damping capacity of the deposite is 2.8 times more than that of the conventional casting ZA27 alloy. Reasons for the improvement of the damping capacity are given from the microstructure and the processing characterics. The micro-elastic model of the grain and phase boundary is also presented.
